Itinerary

Day 1Yerevan city tour

  • Arrival in Yerevan  at Zvartnots airport, transfer to the hotel, breakfast.
  • Visit to Matenadaran -a repository of ancient manuscripts, which  contains about 17,000-30,000 manuscripts and other documents covering  the Gospels, geographical, historical, philosophical and other books.
  • Visit to Grigor Lusavorich church, which is a complex of three buildings, a cathedral and two smaller chapels.
  • Drive to dry fruit market where Local farmers, bakers and food preparers come here and sell everything from fruits and vegetables to dried fruit sausages. 
  •  Visist Erebuni museum, which holds valuable and unique samples of the Urartian culture.
  • Greeting dinner with national song and dance at «Yerevan Pandok».

Day 2Yerevan-Zvartnots-Echmiadzin-Sardarapat-Yerevan

  • Departure to Holy Etchmiadzin, the spiritual center of Armenia and the residence of the Catholicos of All Armenians. The city is located only 20 km from Yerevan. Here we will visit Saint Hripsime, Gayane churches and the Mother Cathedral of Etchmiadzin, built in the 4th century, the treasury of Etchmiadzin, where many sacred relics are preserved, including St. Geghard, which according to legend was damaged by Christ.
  • Visit to Zvartnots, an early medieval Armenian architectural monument, located 3 km south-east of Vagharshapat. In 1989 it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
  • Visit to Sardarapat Heroic Battle Memorial. This architectural monument of Sardarapat is dedicated to the victims of the 1918 Armenian-Turkish war.
  • Back to Yerevan

Day 3Yerevan - Khor Virap - Noravank -Areni- Karahunj - Goris

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Drive to Khor Virap Monastery, from where a wonderful view of biblical Ararat opens.
  • Drive to Noravank monastery complex surrounded by mysterious red rocks, built during XIII-XIV centuries.
  • Visit to wine making region Areni.
  • Visit to Karahunj (Zorats Karer) prehistoric megalithic structure, the world’s oldest observatory, a special area protected by the state as a historical and cultural reserve.
  • Visit to Goris Dinner and rest in the hotel.

Day 4Goris-Tatev-Khndzoresk-Yerevan

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Drive to Khndzoresk, we will explore New and Old Khndzoresk village.
  • Visit to Tatev Monastery, which is the medieval monastery complex i located in the south of Tatev village, on the right bank of the Vorotan river.
  • Return to Yerevan.

 

Day 5Yerevan-Garni-Geghard-Yerevan

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Drive to Garni, stop in the village of Voghjaberd, near the «Charents Arch» monument, from where a wonderful view opens to Mount Ararat.
  • Visit to Garni Pagan Temple, an old Armenian pagan temple, which is the only monument preserved from the period of paganism and Hellenism in Armenia, on the right bank of the Azat River.
  • A short walk to Garni gorge, where we will see the miraculous monument «Symphony of Stones» created by nature.
  • Visit to Geghard monastery complex. Listening to the duduk, entertaining the gata at the entrance.
  • Back to Yerevan- (Departure)
